Belize Rainforest and Reef vacation package is an eight days holiday idea to enjoy the heart of Belize inside the Cayo district and the spectacular San Pedro Ambergris Caye.
Rainforest & Reef is an adventure to explore the Cayo district, located in the heart of Belize. Impressive waterfalls, exciting caves, and ancient Mayan cities are just a glimpse of what awaits you. The Cayo district offers various ecological adventures through its abundant number of nature reserves and national parks.
After visiting the heart of Belize’s ecotourism, you will move to San Pedro Town, located in the northern part of Ambergris Island, the center of accommodation, gastronomy, shopping, and nightlife. From here, you can organize different excursions, such as the visit to the Hol Chan marine reserve located only half a mile from San Pedro.

A representative from Authentic Travel will meet you at Belize International Airport and take you to your hotel in the San Ignacio area.

Horseback Riding & Xunantunich
After breakfast, an Authentic Travel representative will pick you up at the hotel to begin your Horseback riding adventure. Ride through wide-open farmlands as well as covered jungle trails, which follow the Mopan River.
En route, you will visit the archaeological site of Xunantunich, which is the largest ceremonial center in the Belize River Valley, nestled on a natural limestone ridge that offers a fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding country from its hilltop location.
This archaeological destination is one of the most important sites in Belize, dating from an essentially classical period ceremonial center with three ceremonial squares surrounded by mounds of houses, pyramids, and palaces, the largest castle decorated with stucco friezes and masks of classic style.
Chocolate & Cooking Class
After breakfast, an agent from Authentic Travel will pick you up at the hotel. Be ready to begin a unique cultural experience where you will learn about the Maya history of chocolate, Discover the cacao trees and taste the delicious raw cacao beans from the colorful pods.
Help the locals toast and grind nature's treasure with ancient stone tools by participating in our chocolate demonstration and enjoy the distinctive taste of a healthy dark chocolate drink that only the most elite Mayans enjoyed when their civilization was young.
Participate in preparing authentic Mayan food, sit in the cozy Mayan straw house, and enjoy a traditional Mayan lunch. After lunch, your hosts will invite you to participate in hands-on chocolate making and an educational journey by preparing the cocoa bean to make a cocoa paste. The cocoa paste is used in cocoa drinks and to make chocolate bars.

San Ignacio – Jaguar Paw Tour – Belize City – San Pedro Ambergris Caye
Today you will be transferred to Jaguar Paw to enjoy the tube in the cave (approximately 1.5 hours). The cave tubing adventure is one of the most electrifying you can experience in Belize as you become one with the country's natural and cultural aspects.
Enter the exciting world of rivers that disappear into the underworld as you float in inner tubes with only your headlight to light your way. Enjoy the floating side windows that filter the jungle light through the mist as you circle the stalagmites jutting out of the river and stalactites peeking out from above. Pass by the underground waterfalls and then to the Crystal Cathedral, a spiritual center for the ancient Mayans.
Exiting the underground cave system and entering the bright green jungle with white cliffs is an incredible sight that people have to experience first hand. Hol Chan Tour
Today our representative will meet you at the hotel reception to start an exciting day trip to one of the most popular diving/snorkeling sites in Belize, Hol Chan Marine Reserve. The guides will show you around this spectacular snorkel area.
HolChan is protected as a marine sanctuary hosting a dazzling array of tropical fish. Then you will head on sailing to Shark Ray Alley, where you encounter sharks and rays in their natural habitat. An adventure through seagrass beds, the mangroves, the Reef, and the shark ray alley all in one with a diversity of marine life in this 7.8 sq kms of the reserve.
The Shark Ray Alley is a shallow water snorkel where you will enjoy swimming with the harmless nurse sharks and famous southern stingrays.
After the tour, you will be transported back to the hotel.
